How would I forget

Precious spirits resting on the Gapyeong  Hill,
Icy tear pours upon the cobalt earth
where you are already lying.
How can we ever possibly forget
your coral stain that was sacrificed
for a freedom of the small Eastern Country.

Cannonade and bullets storming at the war,
your very last moment of a beautiful reminiscent
of your father and mother and of your beloved wife
and of a cheerful giggle of your child.
Who is ever strong enough to fight off the overwhelming pain?
And strong enough to fight off  the heart aching grief?

Heartfelt outcries fly out many thousands of miles.
Sixty years have passed, but the sorrowful memory remains,
And drips down upon the heart of the left ones,
Our agonies will never fade away
standing on top of your scarlet footprint

Although a billion years pass by
like flowing rivers
We will always cherish your soul and sacrifice
and we will build the steps of liberty
from the foot of the Gapyeong Mountain.
